Arriving in Nairobi

The International Airport is commonly known as the Jomo Kenyetta International Airport (JMIA). It caters to domestic flights to Mombasa and to and from other cities. The airport accommodates bigger airplanes and international flights. Taxicabs are usually available including Uber and Bolt from the to and from all points in Nairobi. Buses also have a route to the airport.

Getting Around

Going around Nairobi’s tourist destinations is no problem at all. You can take an Uber or Bolt taxi for very reasonable fees. Beware of taxi drivers who do not use the apps, they might charge you too much. If you are staying at a hotel, ask the front desk to arrange a taxi for you.

Buses are usually cramped but they cover routes outside the metro. For the adventurers, safari rides are a must. It is wise to take a taxi when you’re bringing expensive cameras or when you go out at night.
